Pubs

Going to a bar/pub on one’s own. Sitting in front of the bar counter. Ordering a drink – Guinness, Murphy’s, etc. Waiting patiently for it to arrive with the money on the counter. Sipping the beer slowly. Savouring the taste. Letting time pass by. Being in the moment.

A pub is supposedly the neighbourhood’s living room. What does one do in a living room? Read a newspaper, watch the telly, do nothing and just laze around. Or writing one’s blog which is what I am doing now. I should be more social and start conversations with people you say? Not in the social mode now, I say. Maybe later.

Kinda funny eh. A Singaporean Chinese in a pub.
